"I just got the Teaching Sneaker the other day AND I loved the packaging! The flat box with the shoe on the outside was cute and I knew exactly what it was. The shoe is great! I have a 5-year-old and she immediately grabbed it from me and practiced shoe-tying on it. My 4-year-old is now anxious to learn (as long as she gets to use "mommy's big shoe"). I loved the "Tie My Shoe Song" and all the instructional videos. It will really help those to see your program."

“This is a terrific course. It is practical, discusses the difference in occupation vs activity analysis (nice) and can have positive implications in outpatient and school-based therapy. Great idea for parent tools as homework. Also, the non-verbal focus and blind considerations is a plus. This could be a fun research project collaboratively with clinicians and OT schools to document skill development and the length of time teaching.”

“I would definitely recommend this course to friends and colleagues 5/5. The virtual, self-pace format was extremely convenient and I really enjoyed the material. I think this is a REALLY good course for ANYONE working with children on what could be a challenging skill to teach.”

“The Shoe-Tying rhyme worked like a charm! I am so proud of my son and he is proud of himself as well.”

“The Shoe Tying Made Simple approach made the chore of learning to tie shoes an easy and fun process. My six-year-old loved to look at the pictures and do it herself. The bicolored laces made it much easier for both of us to figure out the logistics of tying shoes. Thanks for an easy, quick, tearless lesson in shoe-tying!”

The method of tying shoes that Kelly Wilk has introduced to us is far superior compared to the others we have tried. Our daughter is 15 years old and although developmentally disabled, is independent in all other areas of self-help skills. We have tried with the help of other Occupational Therapists, for several years to teach her how to tie her shoes, and she was just not able to get it. When Kelly started working with her she caught on right away and I was amazed. For the first time, I started to believe that she was going to be able to learn this skill. And then in less than 3 weeks she was able to tie her shoes and double knot them all by herself. Even though I knew she was going to learn, I could not believe that she had learned it so quickly.

“I couldn’t believe it! My 6 ½ year old son had gotten so frustrated with trying to tie his shoes that we quit! Then Kelly told me about her book. My youngest son is now on the last step and I know it will be a matter of days until he is tying his own shoes. My older son picked up the steps in just two days! They are both so proud of their accomplishments.

We used Kelly’s shoe-tying system to teach our three children and they all had fun learning to tie their shoes. The different colored laces made it easy for them to follow the instructions.
